Hmmm ... seemed only a month ago that mine passed. Sounds like a grand lady. Sorry for your loss. :(

Scott, thanks, she was. Its so sad when they leave us, isn't it. She had a good life and that's all you can ask for.
Treena, It was only last night I was thinking of all the baking she used to do, I guess that's where I get my sweet tooth from. Grandpa will take care of her now.

Yes, it is. For me, especially so because my grandmother had a soft spot for Alex and - because she lived so far away (Arizona, while we're in British Columbia) - Alex didn't get a chance to meet her great grandmother, before she passed. :(

Sorry to hear that Scott, its such a shame, you will have to share your memories with Alex and tell her how wonderful your Grandma was.

On a somewhat funnier note ... my grandmother (who was known for being both vocal AND opinionated), was being transported to her final resting place (she was cremated ... is it "creamated" ... don't know) by my Uncle and my cousin.

Along the way to the funeral ('twas a fairly long drive across Phoenix, apparently), my Uncle lightened the somber mood by saying, "This is the quietest that your grandma has ever been, while riding in this car" :p

Oh yeah, my grandma had an enviable zest for life, relationship with God, a zillion friends and amazing sense of humor. ;)

Today we said our final goodbye to Nana.

The funeral was a lovely service. They played her favourite music by Jim Reeves, at the begining it was 'I Love You Because' and at the end of the sevice 'Welcome to my world'. Lots of family and friends turned up, and we celebrated her life and remembered the goodtimes with a drink and a bite to eat at the Castle Gardens afterwards.

I loved her and will miss her forever,

Goodnight Nana, Rest in piece.

Love Gary
