On Monday just past, Pam celebrated her 40th Birthday.

As a special treat I took her away for the weekend to Newby Bridge in the Lake Distict. We left the girls with my Mum and Dad and had a lovely couple of days on our own in a big hotel called Newby Bridge Hotel.

As well as the weekend away I bought her a couple of rings, and a lovely bouquet of flowers. Well you are only 40 once, so why not

We had a smashing time and had 'an eat all you want breakfast' the full monty, cereals, fruit, full cooked breakfast, tea, toast and basically whatever you wanted.

It was nice to have a break on our own and enjoyed a couple of meals out with a drink, and without rushing to do anything.

On the return from our weekend away we had planned to have a night out with a meal and a drink with family. Altogether there was 14 of us went out to the Royal Venue on Cleveley's promenade, the meal was first class and I said to Pam that we really must come again here. Especially with it being real close to were we live.

We invited everybody back to our house aftwards for a glass of wine and a piece of Pam's birthday cake.

Everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves, so we were very pleased, mission accomplished and a very happy 40 year old wife.
