On the 11th of September 2008, our eldest daughter Kelsey celebrated her 16th Birthday.
Its hard to believe she is now 16 years old, how time flies. She got some nice presents off friends and family and also some cash as well. This was to be spent at a later date at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.
It was a school day so after she had open her cards (see below) and her presents it was time for a her breakfast and then off to school. Little did she know that we had a surprise birthday cake planned and a birthday balloon and on her return home from school she was very excited to see them.
That night, we all went out for a meal with Kelsey's Auntie Julie, who was over here for a week from America, so that we could finish celebrating Kelsey's 16th Birthday. We went to the Royal Venue on Cleveley's Promenade, a favourite of all of ours and had a nice meal.
Then it was time to come back home and sing Happy Birthday and cut into the cake. Naturally we all had a slice with a nice cuppa. It was a nice night out, we don't get too many of them nowadays and it was especially nice with her Auntie Julie coming along as well.
There's a few photo's below for you to look through at your leisure, it was a memorable day and its nice to enter it all on my blog for all to see and for us to look back on.
As I said before, Julie (Pam's sister from America)was over here for a week and stayed with us. Its been 7 years or so since we have seen her and really enjoyed her company and stayed up to all hours just talking and catching up. The night after Kelsey's Birthday we went with Julie and Pam's Uncle Greg, up to the promenade and walked along the illuminations, the greatest free light show in England.
After Julie had been here for a week, we took her back to Manchester Airport for her to catch her return flight back to the States. It was sad to see her go, we had all enjoyed having her stay with us and would surely miss her.
On the way back from the airport we stopped at the Trafford Centre for a bit of retail therapy and Kelsey spent most of her Birthday Money she had got given on a new game (Mario Carts) for her Wii, a new pair of trainers, a few clothes and a new bag.
Well that's it for now.
